Well, it has been a while since I have written a post. We are having a wonderful time here in Texas. We spent a day with Jim and Bobbie Gibson and Dan and Marylou. They are in Victoria and came down for a visit. We were also blessed with a visit from Carol and Jerry Hardacre. They were here a couple of nights and we toured Corpus Christie and ate at wonderful Snoopy's on the water. We have gone to a wonderful concert by Sarah Gretto here at the park. She is blind and plays the piano and violin and sings. She is wonderful and I understand she will be on the program for FMCA in Redmond, Oregon. If you get a chance to see her, she is really great. Last night we went to the Refugio Opry and it, too, was really great. Lots of good musicians. We have had a few days of rain and chilly weather, but today it is beautiful. Great Texas weather. We are to be in the 70's and we are ready for that as good ole Indiana gets another dump of snow. We are also getting ready for a big COLTS party on Sunday. We'll be yelling for the COLTS. Have a great day.

Today w
e took a road trip to Mathis, Texas. It is just north of Corpus Christi. We go there every year to look at birds. This year was no exception . We were more fortunate this year as we were able to see several birds. We saw a vermillion flycatcher. They are a beautiful red and are a lot smaller than a cardinal. We also saw a Kisskidee. He, too, is very colorful. We saw several hawks and some different breeds of ducks. There is so much water standing around it is unreal. We have never seen this much water in this part of Texas. The weather continues to be nice and warm, in the 70's and no rain. We are enjoying running around with no coat, snow, or ice. Bill and Dave played golf yesterday and Janet and I went shopping. We have played Bingo and had a good time. There continues to be many activities going on here. The book club just finished the Runnaway Quilt. That was a very good book. Bill's sister and her husband are here too. They are doing real good. The picture you see is the cafe we had lunch at today. We have eaten here every year for about 7 years. It is an old Hardware store with a corner made into a cafe. It is not a place you would stop at just by looking at it, but the food is really good. We are all doing fine and miss you all. Go Colts!

We have finally gotten to our winter location. We arrived on Fri. around 1:30. They had rain in Rockport all night on Thurs. and on Fri. up until we arrived. Luckily it quit raining, but they had 4 and 1/2 inches we had to contend with. Our spot was under water and Bill got out his boots and hooked us up. Later in the day the sun came out and the water started drying up. Sat. the rain puddles were all gone. The sun came out in the afternoon and it got up to the lower 60's. Nice day. We had a Colts party at the RV. Janet and Dave and Rosie and Doyle came over and we had snacks and suffered through a first half. We were all cheering for the Colts and they came through. Today the sun is out and again it is to be in the 60's with a good forecast for the rest of the week, in the 70's and no rain. We are all settled and liking are new winter home already. It is so good to see some of our old friends from last year. We also miss many that could not make it this year.

Baytown, Texas
We arrived at Baytown, Texas, yesterday around 4 pm. We stopped at Winnie, Texas and visited with Bill's sister and brother-in-law from Virginia, who are also on their way to Lagoons. They no longer have their RV and are staying at cabins in the park. The weather yesterday was really nice, in the hight 50's. Today we have rain, but still in the 50's. We took a ride around Galveston and there is still a lot of devastation and clean up going on. We are having some trouble with our TV as we can't seem to get the cable to work. Bill has been working on it for a couple of days with no success so far. Guess we don't need to know what is going on in the world. Tomorrow we will head on down to Lagoons at Rockport and set up for the next couple of months. Hopefully the weather tomorrow will be better as we travel.

On The Road Again
We left home on Sun. after we finally got the compressor to work and fill our air bags on the coach. We had to run the engine for about 2 hours to thaw out the compressor so it would work. We drove to Sikeston, MO. and spent the night. We can't miss going to Lambert's for the throwed rolls. We met up with Janet and Dave Hooten and we all enjoyed an excellent meal. It was about 0 degrees when we left and it was around 23 when we got to Sikeston. Of course, it got really cold that night. We left on Mon. and drove to Hammond, LA. We are staying here for a couple of nights to thaw out and turn on our water. Hopefully no leaks. It is 60 degrees here and we feel like we are in a heat wave. Tomorrow we will head out and go to just east of Houston for a couple of nights. Stay tuned for more adventures.

We just had to post one more
PEI picture. This was a beautiful rock formation along one of the roads going to a lighthouse. Their rocks and dirt were so red and with the sun it was beautiful. We left PEI this morning and stared our trip towards home. We crossed New Brunswick and entered the states at Calais, ME. The trip through customs was very uneventful. She asked where we were from, what we purchased, and did we have any pets or firearms. She asked to come on board and only looked in the bathroom and left to check our passports and told us to have a safe trip. We then headed to Bangor, ME. and it was still pretty early so we went on to Canaan, ME. We are headed to Quebec to get our last province and then we will start toward Indiana. The weather today began with clouds, but has cleared up and is a beautiful day. We are a KOA campground which is really pretty. We are by the mountains and with all the rain they have had the grass is really green. The trees are beginning to change a little. They are yellowing and in some places you can see a little red. It seems fall is on the way.
